SHINE

SHINE is the name for our children's activities.

This summer's SHINE in the Holidays - our summer holiday club - is coming up!  The theme this year is 'The Great Escape' and the club runs from 10:00-12:30 on Tuesday 29 August to Friday 1 Septemer.  Please complete the simple form on the right for more information.

If you want to continue having fun then we have our weekly term-time SHINE held at the Church of the Good Shepherd, on Thursdays between 4.30pm and 6.00pm. There is a small charge of £1 to cover the cost of craft materials, and there is also a tuck shop. For more details please contact Maggie Wigmore.

Please use the form to the right to register your child(ren) for our next event, and we will send you a fuller registration form with more details.

The Grid

the-gridThe Grid is the group for young people in school years 6 to 9. It meets every Thursday at the Good Shepherd, 7-8.30pm, and every Sunday during the 10:30 service.

The name "The GRID" relates to a power grid with the idea that the message of the cross is the power of God to those who are being saved (1 Corinthians 1:18). As we learn more about Jesus, and try to follow him as we live our lives, we are seeing the power of God working in us.

Lighthouse

lighthousenewLighthouse is our Sunday school for children aged between 3 and 11, which meets during the morning service (except for the first Sunday of the month when there is an All-Age service). The children stay in the service for the first 10-15 minutes of the service and then they go to their groups, sometimes going back into the service for Communion.

It is named Lighthouse because in John Chapter 8 Jesus says, "I am the light of the world. The person who follows me will never live in darkness. He will have the light that gives life."

Each Sunday we look at the Bible to explore how we can follow Jesus and have the light that gives life.

There are two Lighthouse groups. Lighthouse Infants meets in the end classroom and is for 3-7 year olds and Lighthouse Juniors meets in the side classroom and is for 7-11 year olds.
